Reebok Jet 100 treadmill key features

For starters, we will begin by listing the key features of the Reebok Jet 100 treadmill for runners:

  • Maximum running speed of 10mph (16kph)
  • Foldable design for convenient storage
  • Air motion cushioning
  • Set real-world running routes using the Reebok fitness app
  • Maximum user weight of 110kg
  • Magnetic auto-stop safety clip
  • Built-in adjustable cooling fan (although the fan isn’t the best, it is nice to have)

The majority of these key features are relatively straightforward. However, we will now explain a few of the more advanced features in more detail below.

Foldable design

The Reebok jet 100 treadmill uses soft drop hydraulics to enable the treadmill to be folded and placed into storage. This is ideal for those living in small flats or apartments, for those who have kids, or for people who like a clean and elegant home gym setup.

In fact, most treadmills from Reebok contain a similar design, including the ZR8 and the Jet 300

Built-in adjustable cooling fan

It is worth noting that there is a built-in adjustable cooling fan. However, it doesn’t do a lot! We would recommend purchasing an additional external fan and pointing this at the treadmill, especially when running during the summer months.

Despite this, for more recreational runners, an additional fan may not be required but it is a nice feature, even if it doesn’t do that much…

Air motion cushioning

Unlike other running treadmills, the Jet 100 utilises air motion cushioning to reduce the overall impact on the joints. Often, many runners complain that treadmill running hurts their knees. However, with air motion cushioning, you are guaranteed less (or no) knee pain, allowing you to focus on your training.

The air motion cushioning comprises several air-filled pockets to reduce overall impact, lessening your risk of injury and ultimately making treadmill running more comfortable and a viable option for everyday runners.

Also, to further reduce pain and increase realism, you should set the treadmill to at least a one or two per cent gradient, even when running on a “flat”.

Noteworthy advantages

Okay, now that we have provided an overview of the key features of the Jet 100, this next section will highlight several pros. Noteworthy advantages of this treadmill, when compared to others, include:

  • USB port to charge devices while on the treadmill
  • Up to 24 built-in fitness programs
  • Impressive warranty
  • Competitive price

Once again, we will now explain these advantages in more detail below.

The ability to charge your devices while on the Reebok Jet 100 treadmill

Like most other treadmills out there, you benefit from a USB charging point to charge your devices while running. This can be useful for connecting to apps such as Zwift, which often drain a lot of battery while in use.

Besides, the last thing you want is for your phone to run out of juice just before your run ends, losing your data, your motivation, and perhaps even your playlist that was getting you through that tough workout.

Up to 24 built-in fitness programs

For a treadmill with an entry-level price, it’s great to see a variety of built-in fitness programs – twenty-four, to be exact. Therefore, regardless of your current fitness level, you’ll find a workout that’s challenging enough to challenge you and improve your fitness.

Examples of these workouts include interval sessions and incline sprints, allowing you to maximise the use of a treadmill and the controlled environment instead of regular outside running.

Impressive warranty

The Reebok Jet 100 treadmill warranty is typical for most Reebok products – guaranteeing quality and longevity. The standard warranty includes ten-year coverage on the motor, a lifetime frame warranty, and a further two years for additional parts and labour costs.

You can also contact the dedicated support team at Reebok for any issues or for further guidance with your treadmill, whether that’s setting it up for the first time, troubleshooting an issue, or other assistance.

Competitive price

Our final massive pro is the competitive price – you’ll likely struggle to find another treadmill with as many features around the same price bracket. Being more affordable, this makes it a great choice when training at home has never been more popular.

Reebok Jet 100 treadmill problems – is there any?

As this treadmill comes in at a much lower price bracket compared to others on the market, it is almost expected that a few features are not going to be as advanced as others. But as you already know, you get what you pay for when shopping for treadmills and various other running tech.

Anyways, potential downsides of the Jet 100 treadmill include:

  • Not the best choice for serious runners
  • Will require a footpod to work with Zwift (and other supported apps)
  • Little shaky compared to other (more expensive) treadmills
  • It’s heavy!

Below you will find more details on each of these downsides.

Not the best choice for serious runners (only goes up to 10mph)

The main potential problem with the Reebok Jet 100 treadmill is the top speed of 12.4 mph. For most runners, this will likely not be an issue, allowing you to comfortably run up to 6 minutes per mile pace. However, for those who take their running a little more seriously, you may wish to consider a treadmill with a higher top speed, such as the Reebok Jet 300 treadmill, which goes up to 12.4 mph or 4.50 pace per mile.

Notwithstanding this, 12.4 mph is plenty for the majority of us mere mortals, providing a range of paces allowing us to get the most out of our training.

Will require an additional footpod to work with Zwift

Many users reported some difficulty connecting with the popular running and cycling fitness app, Zwift. However, the treadmill should connect if using an Bluetooth or ANT+ footpod, but the data may not be as accurate as other treadmills.

Also, as the treadmill does not have a proper screen, you will need to use Zwift on another device such as a laptop, smartphone, or iPad. However, this is standard for most bikes and running machines. So, there really shouldn’t be an issue here.

Little shaky compared to other treadmills

When compared to other running machines, the Jet 100 may feel a little shaky, especially in contrast to commercial treadmills that you find in gyms. Despite this, so long as the maximum weight allowance of 110kg is not exceeded, although the run may feel a little shaky when running at higher speeds, it is completely safe.

When shopping for more affordable treadmills, you have to take into account that the features are quite simply not going to be as good as other options twice, if not ten times the price.

The Jet 100 treadmill is VERY heavy

Finally, the Jet 100 treadmill is very heavy, weighing a total of 108kg. While it is still compact and easily foldable, if you’re wanting to move the treadmill you’re going to need at least two people (ideally). Therefore, when setting it up we recommend doing so in the place you want to keep it.

Like we mentioned previously, the foldable design does mean you can move it out the way for easy storage. But if you’re looking to move it more than a few metres then you’re going to need to put your back into it and may require help from a friend or family member.

Is it difficult to construct?

The Reebok Jet 100 treadmill is actually very straightforward to construct, with the majority of the treadmill arriving already constructed. All you’ll need to do is unbox the treadmill, arrange the frame, and tighten the already inserted screws.

If you run into any issues along the way, you can always refer to the instruction manual. However, expect to have your new treadmill set up in as little as ten minutes, perhaps less if you’re technically minded.

Are there any safety features?

Like most treadmills, there is only a couple of safety features. Firstly, you have the safety clip that is attached to your clothes. If you are to fall or slip, the clip is pulled and the treadmill comes to a stop. This is standard for most treadmills.

Second, the built-in fan does a somewhat okay job of keeping you cool. However, far from a proper safety feature, it does come in handy when supplemented with an additional fan during those extra hot months.

Is it worth the money?

Reebok Jet 100 treadmill review

So, you’ve reached the end of the article, and you’re now wondering whether or not the Reebok Jet 100 treadmill is worth the money. We say, yes – it’s excellent value introducing various features unseen for this price range. Moreover, while there may be a few potential cons, such as the maximum speed or perhaps shaky design, this treadmill is a great piece of training equipment for your average runner looking to train during the colder months.

With this being said, however, if you are a more serious runner, then you may wish to consider a different treadmill that is capable of faster speeds. But you will need to fork out more than double the price of the Jet 100 to achieve this.

Frequently asked questions

To finish, we’ve gathered together various questions about the Reebok Jet 100 treadmill for running and other general treadmill queries:

How long do Reebok treadmills typically last?

You can expect your new Reebok treadmill to last at least ten years, as covered by the motor warranty. However, it will likely last longer than this, providing you with over a decade of running (depending on how often you use it & take care of it).

Does the Reebok Jet 100 treadmill contain Bluetooth connection?

Yes! This treadmill does contain a Bluetooth connection. This allows you to connect to the Reebok fitness app or other Bluetooth devices to record your data. This includes Bluetooth connection to foot pods and heart rate monitors to your smart devices.

Why is my Reebok treadmill beeping?

Your treadmill may be beeping for numerous reasons. For example, if it is beeping, one possible explanation may be the need for lubrication and oil. This is an alert that is pre-set-up. Alternatively, it may be a deeper issue that may require assistance. Check the screen for any information, and if you cannot detect the issue after this, then we recommend contacting the Reebok dedicated support team.

Do you need to oil treadmills?

Much like you would lube the chain on a bicycle, you should oil your treadmill for the best performance. Furthermore, this also increases longevity and ensures all the parts are working correctly. At a minimum, you should oil the parts every three months or approximately every 120-150 miles.

How to change Reebok Jet 100 treadmill from km to miles?

Once the treadmill is in standby mode, insert the safety key provided and hold the speed and incline buttons together for five seconds. Repeat this process until the metrics change from KM to miles.

How do you lubricate a Reebok treadmill?

Proper lubrication of your Reebok jet 100 treadmill is essential, ensuring it works correctly. Turn the treadmill off and spray a small amount of lube under the belt onto the running board. Your instruction manual should also let you know of any other parts you may wish to lubricate.
